Discount clothing chain TK Maxx will open its new Bath store in May.
The company has confirmed it will be opening its first store in the city in the former JJB Sports shop on the High Street on May 2.
The shop has been empty since last October when the sports chain collapsed.
TK Maxx was unable to confirm how many jobs would be created.
The firm has been voted the country's fourth favourite retailer and is also expanding in Germany and Poland.
It says it is able to offer fashion and homeware at prices up to 60 per cent below those of its competitors through a combination of opportunistic buying and no-frills stores.
