The historical importance of Bath Spa railway station has been recognised with a new plaque.
The station designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and built in 1840, has been named as a Transport Heritage Site by the Transport Trust charity.
Its president Sir William McAlpine unveiled a red wheel plaque at a ceremony attended by an actor dressed as Brunel.
The award recognises the site as a place of significance on the 19th-century engineering wizard's Great Western Railway.
Operator First Great Western's station manager, Peter Rignall, said: "The Great Western network showcases a pioneering phase of railway construction.
"Recent improvement work has seen the forecourt of the station renovated in keeping with its famous history. We are proud to see Bath Spa station recognised in this way."
The area outside the station has been turned into The Vaults food quarter.
