Lua Lokotui is determined to make Bath pay for ruining his Kingsholm debut.
The gritty Gloucester lock is out to exact revenge against the Blue Black and Whites at The Recreation Ground on Friday (kick-off 8pm).
The 33-year-old Tongan powerhouse started his Gloucester career with consecutive LV=Cup defeats, first at Northampton and then at home to old enemies Bath.
The former Stade Francais second row made his Cherry and Whites debut in the 26-7 Franklin's Gardens defeat on Saturday, January 26.
He was able to claim quickfire vengeance over the Saints just two weeks later, though, when Nigel Davies' side landed an impressive 27-11 Premiership victory at the same ground.
Now the ex-Hawke's Bay captain is ready for payback part two.
Bath dispatched listless Gloucester 32-5 at Kingsholm on Saturday, February 2.
Gloucester let slip their five-game winning streak against Bath in that Anglo-Welsh Cup debacle.
And Lokotui is ready to unleash the frustrations that have built up in the wake of that demoralising loss.
Gloucester's return to league action has yielded victories over Worcester and Northampton, sandwiching a 33-29 defeat at Wasps.
Claiming both the losing and try bonus at Wasps means Gloucester's haul for the run of three Premiership contests stands at ten points.
Lokotui is convinced Gloucester can add another four league points to that tally this weekend.
He said: "We've got to respect Bath, because they came up here and they bullied us a bit.
"So it's payback, definitely for me, because their forward pack dominated us, and it's a great opportunity for us to go and do something about that, and show what we're really about, show our true colours.
"It was a tough start, losing at Northampton and then with what happened against Bath.
"But they were cup matches where we tried some different things, and I think we've been finding our feet again in the last few weeks.
"I know what derby games are all about and how much they mean to everyone involved.
"We know the fans were gutted to lose to Bath and so were we.
"Now we've got this chance to make part of that right, and I can't wait to get stuck into them again – there's a bit of unfinished business, I reckon."
Gloucester face a two-week fixture break after Friday's West Country derby.
The Cherry and Whites can register a third-straight Premiership double over their bitterest rivals with victory at The Rec. And Lokotui thinks that would be the perfect way to sign off this month of league action, to tee up an all-out play-off assault for the six final games of the regular season.
Admitting Friday's last-gasp 29-23 victory over Worcester at Kingsholm was too close for comfort, Lokotui said Gloucester just need more conviction when they find themselves within scoring range.
A penalty try in the game's final play saved Gloucester from defeat, Worcester full-back Errie Claassens sent off for tripping Jonny May.
Calling on Gloucester to sharpen up in scoring scenarios, Lokotui said: "A win at Bath would set us up going into the break.
"It would leave the boys in high confidence and spirits, at just the right time.
"It felt like we were the dominant team on Friday, but there were just a few chances we couldn't finish. That was frustrating but the main thing in the end was that we got the result.
"We had several good chances to score from lineouts, but you are only going to get one or two of those, and it means you've really got to finish them off.
"The effort and commitment is there, and hopefully we can carry on our winning ways next week. That result can be a huge boost. But we've got to build our consistency.
"That's definitely something to work on. It was great to see Jonny take that ball up the wing. It was a crazy finish, but that's the firepower we've got out there, if we exploit it."
