The new police and crime commissioner for Avon and Somerset has outlined her priorities for the next four years.

Sue Mountstevens, who was elected in November, has published her police and crime plan, which focuses on tackling anti-social behaviour, domestic and sexual violence, burglary and making sure victims are satisfied with the justice system.

She was in Bath to talk about the plans and spent time with domestic abuse victims and their families during a visit to the Southside Family Project, in Whiteway.

During her stay in the city she also met Curo residents, volunteers and staff to discuss anti-social behaviour problems and possible solutions to the issues they faced, as well as paying a visit to the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution.

Ms Mountstevens said she believed her four-year plan got to the heart of what mattered most to people living in Bath and north east Somerset and across the whole of the Avon and Somerset force area.

She said: "This is my opportunity to show how I intend to keep the promise I made to residents when I was elected.

"I campaigned on these four priorities because I heard loud and clear that these things matter to communities."

In addition to the statutory Avon and Somerset Plan there is also a more specific B&NES plan, which has been put together in partnership with district commander Chief Supt Geoff Spicer.

Wiltshire's police and crime commissioner Angus Macpherson has also drawn up his plan, which is divided into six main sections, including reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, protecting the vulnerable and reducing offending and re-offending.
