Team Bath's Loren Bleaken is hoping to make another big impact in the annual British Milers Club Young Athletes PB Classic at Millfield School on Monday. The 17-year-old reigning British and English Schools' champion is planning to attack the European Under-20 Championships qualifying time of 2:06 – a mark she dipped well under last year when setting her personal best of 2:04.59 at the BMC regional race in Exeter. "That won't count for Loren as the qualifying period is from January 1st and she had the help of a male pacemaker at Exeter," said coach Adrian Clover. "From our point of view it would be nice to get the qualifying time done before the trials because there aren't that many opportunities to run a fast time." Coach Adrian Clover is working with the BMC to find a pacemaker to help Bleaken. who sharpened up with wins over 200m (25.6secs) and 400m (55.8secs) in the opening UK Youth Development League Midland Premier Division match for the composite Team Avon side on Sunday. "Those races went really well for me I then had a good run in the 4x400m relay taking over in third on the final leg and bringing the team home to victory," said Bleaken. She said: "I am really happy with the season so far and now I am looking forward to Millfield and hopefully we can find a pacemaker to help me out."
