At a loose end during the week ahead? Here's our at-a-glance guide to ten things to do in Bath during the coming week:

Bath Croquet Club are holding a charity open day on Bath Recreation Ground on Saturday, from 10am. All are invited to attend and try croquet for the first time and raise money for Dorothy House Hospice Care. Equipment is provided and visitors should wear flat soled shoes. There will be a spring fayre at Bath Cats and Dogs Home, Claverton Down, Bath, between 11am and 3pm on Sunday. There will be plants, books, collectables, bric-a-brac and refreshments on offer.

Students studying for a Foundation Degree in Applied Art at Wiltshire College present a final show of art in preparation for completing the BA (Hons) Degree in Creative Arts at Bath Spa University. Something Else opens at the 44AD Gallery and Studio Space, Lower Borough Walls in Bath on Wednesday.

Sunday sees the return of folk singer and harmonica wizard Jez Hellard for a show at The Bell with his band The Djukella Orchestra.

Two of Britain's top jazz musicians, Iain Ballamy and Jason Rebello appearing together at the St James' Wine Vaults on Thursday, May 16 at 8pm. Tickets cost £10.

Don't forget this year's Holburne Plant Sale in Bath will be held on Sunday, instead of the usual Saturday. It is held in the front grounds of the museum from 11am to 2pm.

The Argyle Players are performing Charlotte Hastings' The Wayward Spirit at the Tovey Hall from Wednesday to Saturday, May 8 to 11 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 on 01225 423866.

Go see J. J. Abrams's sci-fi sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. Chris Pine reprises his role as Captain James T. Kirk, opposite Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg.

Catch the former Theremin frontman, Richard Walters at Bath Chapel Arts on Saturday. Richard makes acoustic, alt-folk with hints of pop, indie- rock and has toured with the likes of Gemma Hayes and Dave Matthews. Tickets cost £10.
