Keynsham cycling sisters Beth and Sophie Taylor remain on course for the national finals after successful first-round outing at the South of England Omnium Championships last weekend.
The event at the Reading Velodrome featured 80 youngsters, including 20 of the region's best under-14 and 16 girls.
Older sibling Beth was second in the under-16s time trial before notching up first places in the points race, scratch and devil. A further runners-up finish in the keirin gave her an unassailable lead in the overall standings.
Sophie pulled her foot out in the start gate of the time trial before finishing in 11th spot. She fought back to come second in both the scratch and keirin before claiming third spot in the devil and sixth in the points race.
That earned her fourth position overall in the under-14s section.
Two rounds remain, after which the top three from each age category progress to the national finals.
