Avon and Somerset Police have appointed a new assistant chief constable.
Louisa Rolfe, the former head of CID at the force, has been promoted to the position.
She has been with the constabulary for 22 years, working in both uniform and detective roles across the force area.
As an inspector she led the Central Bristol Neighbourhood Team and as a detective chief inspector led North Somerset CID before becoming a staff officer to the chief constable.
She has also led a number of high profile murder investigations and projects.
