A Bath internet sensation has been awarded a prestigious Scout badge as part of the association's 106th birthday celebrations.
Charlie McDonnell, who attended Beechen Cliff School, won the IT award for his online success.
His YouTube channel, which he started in 2007, has more than two million subscribers and his videos have been viewed over a staggering 290 million times.
The 22-year-old, who grew up in Combe Down, said he was thrilled at receiving the award.
He said: "I feel very honoured to have been awarded the IT badge.
"All my years of sitting in front of a computer staring into a screen have finally paid off."
Mr McDonnell's channel, which is called charlieissocoollike, features humorous video blogs and comical songs, which are all written and performed by the online prodigy.
He now has a vast fan base but said he was not resting on his laurels.
He said: "I'm making five short films at the moment and I've just finished filming the second, which should be finished in a few weeks."
The former Cub Scout released a solo album in 2010 and his YouTube channel was the first in the UK to reach one million subscribers.
The musician has also raised a hefty sum for charity by completing challenges which he performs to his YouTube fans via a live video link.
In 2008 he raised £5,000 for Cancer Research UK by dyeing and then shaving his hair – a process which lasted more than seven hours.
Mr McDonnell said internet stardom had served up a number of opportunities which most people could only dream of.
He said: "One of the coolest things that has come out of my channel is that Disney Pixar invited me to meet the director of Toy Story 3 before the film was released.
"I used to watch Toy Story when I was younger and never expected to be meeting the people who make it – so that was awesome for me."
Mr McDonnell also had some words of advice for young people looking to follow in his footsteps.
He said: "Anyone who wants to make films should just give it a go – that's what I did and it worked out well for me."
