Residents and councillors are continuing to lobby Bath and North East Somerset Council over the introduction of parking charges in Royal Victoria Park.
The Conservative group is calling for two hours' free parking at the park and have said visitors should be allowed to park for up to four hours.
Since June visitors to the park have had to pay £1-an-hour to park their cars and can stay for between two and four hours – the park has been divided into zones allowing different lengths of stay.
Councillor Anthony Clarke (Con, Lansdown), said: "At the moment the new parking restrictions and charges at Victoria Park are benefiting no one and should be reviewed as a matter of urgency.
"Businesses are reporting a drop in trade, the park has been emptier than usual for the time of year, and nearby residents are being inconvenienced."
An epetition, launched by Verity Porter, who lives in Marlborough Buildings, has already attracted 58 signatures and she said the council needed to think again.
The mother-of-two said: "The two hours they have at the moment isn't long enough. I know some of the parking bays are four hours but they are full up.
"Since the new parking charges it's really unoccupied the park – it's gone from one extreme to the other."
The council installed the ticket machines to prevent commuters parking all day.
A spokesman said it would review the parking charges within the next six months to monitor the impact.
He said: "The overwhelming majority of motorists who previously used this space from Monday to Saturday were not there to enjoy the park, play areas, sports facilities, or Botanical Gardens – they parked their car for the day and walked to their next destination.
"As a result of the limited parking times, people visiting the park can find a space quickly and conveniently."
