A lorry driver is to face trial by jury accused of causing the death of an 89-year-old man by careless driving.
Andrew Greenhalgh is said to have been behind the wheel of a Seddon Atkinson lorry when it was involved in a collision with Tommy Ford almost a year ago.
The 43-year-old is alleged to have been driving the vehicle in Valley Road, Corsham, on November 26 when it was involved in a collision with the pensioner.
Greenhalgh, of Dicketts Road, Corsham, pleaded not guilty to causing death by careless driving when he appeared at Swindon crown court last week.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Tuesday, April 22, next year when he is due to face trial on the charge and released him on unconditional bail until then.
Mr Ford, of Cresswells, Corsham, died following the incident on Valley Road, close to the junction with Spackman Lane, just after 5pm on the Monday evening.
