Plans have been unveiled to move Bradford on Avon post office.
The Post Office wants to relocate it from The Shambles to the Richardson's Budgens supermarket in Kingston Road.
The move would mean the post office would be open by an extra 66 hours a week, with the counter's hours reflecting those of the shop, which are 7am to 11pm every day, including Sunday.
There will now be a six-week public consultation.
Regional network manager for Wales and West of England, Tony Jones, said: "We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Bradford on Avon and we are confident that this new modern branch will make it easier for our customers to do business with us and also secure services for the future."
The town's branch is one of around 6,000 - half the network - which are scheduled to be converted to such new-style facilities, with longer opening hours.
The firm says it will not be launching any more branch closure programmes.
The consultation will close on February 1 and submissions can be made during the consultation via Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, via 08457 22 33 44 or textphone 08457 22 33 55.
