Gary Gold has urged all Bath Rugby fans to get behind their bid to reach the Aviva A League final next week. Bath United host Sale Jets on Monday (7.30pm), with tickets free for the last-four clash at The Rec. After topping the Southern Conference table with four wins from their five games, Gold says it shows Bath have taken the A League just as seriously as their three first-team competitions. "To have a semi-final, and it's free, and people can come to The Rec and enjoy the atmosphere, is just great," said Gold. "The whole squad is going to be down there supporting the team and it would be brilliant for as many people to come down to The Rec as possible. "It's very heartwarming. I know a few people sneered when we said we'd be taking every single competition seriously from the beginning and raised their eyebrows. "But I just think it's really important. "First and foremost, the Bath Rugby supporters deserve to see that. "They deserve to see their professional rugby put out a team, no matter what the competition is, that is going to give 100 per cent effort for 100 per cent of the time. "The A team have really delivered that. They had some outstanding games last year and this year they've kicked on and had some fantastic results again." Bath clinched their place in the semi-finals with a 35-14 victory at Saracens Storm in late October. Gold says the confidence secured from the result at Allianz Park carried over to the rest of the squad. "It was a tremendous effort and that kind of character and commitment is important to what we are trying to build over here," said Gold. "The guys came back and there was a real buzz about the club. "They were feeling good, the intensity in training was higher and it meant that the guys playing that weekend felt the pressure. "It's a healthy environment to be in." Tickets for Monday's semi-final are free but availability will be limited. As with all A League games, the Novia Stand will not be open. Gates will open at 5.30pm and tickets can either be booked online, by calling 0844 448 1865, or at the ticket office on Pulteney Bridge.
