Former Miss Bath and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! contestant Amy Willerton can cope with anything the jungle throws at her - after being assaulted at a beauty pageant in South Korea. In 2011 the former Miss Bristol fled an international pageant which she said descended into frightening chaos. Amy, then 19, quit the contest in South Korea after three "shambolic" days. She said she was assaulted and fed just one meal a day at the event. According to the Daily Mirror, Bristol-based Amy's family insist she can now cope with anything on the ITV reality show because the distressing events in South Korea gave her "an inner strength". A family friend reportedly told the national paper: "It was an awful experience and Amy was really affected by it and actually turned down the jungle last year because she thought she wouldn't be able to cope. "But she is confident that she can win now because of what happened. Amy is remarkably wise for such a young woman and really learnt from this incident. It's really prepared her for the jungle and she is a little fighter, she doesn't take any nonsense. She could definitely win." Amy had said after returning from South Korea: "It was absolutely horrendous. "When we complained we were told that we would have no chance of winning if we carried on. "I was petrified but more than anything I thought I had to get control of the situation and get out of there." She said she signed a contract assuring her that all expenses would be paid. But she had to foot the bill for her flight and discovered her hotel room did not even have a bed. In emails to her, one of the organisers admitted the competition had been a "shambles".
