Natalie Imbruglia to make her UK stage debut in Bath

Singer Natalie Imbruglia is set to make her UK stage debut in Bath. The Australian actress and singer will be staring in Things We Do For Love at the Theatre Royal in April. She will be playing the role of Nikki Wickstead in the Theatre Royal Bath Production, which marks her first time on the stage in the UK. Imbruglia began her career on the soap Neighbours where she played Beth Brennan. She then went on to become one of the biggest pop sensations in Europe, with hits including Torn, and the album Left Of The Middle which sold more than six million copies worldwide and won her three Grammy nominations and two Brit Awards. In 2003 Imbruglia co-starred in the film Johnny English with Rowan Atkinson, and made her leading actress debut in the 2009 film Closed for Winter. Things We Do For Love is written by Alan Ayckbourn and directed by Laurence Boswell, and will be at the Theatre Royal from Wednesday April 16 to Saturday April 26. Imbruglia's character Nikki Wickstead is the victim of a classic Ayckbourn love triangle in a long-awaited revival of one of the most popular plays of the nineties. Over the years Theatre Royal Bath Productions has put dozens of top shows featuring international entertainers into London's West End and on to Broadway putting Bath's name up in lights. Recently productions have included Lenny Henry in Fences, Rowan Atkinson in Quartermaine's Terms, Rupert Everett in Judas Kiss and Kim Cattrall and Matthew Macfadyen In Private Lives which also went on to play on Broadway.
