People in Bath at the weekend were full of good health intentions.

City resident Will Savile wants to step up his fitness for the new year.

"I'm not doing any exercise at the moment," said the 23-year-old mechanic. "You kind of stop before Christmas but plan to start up again.

"I play hockey and I run and I want to get a lot fitter."

Cindy and Chris Pride, from Westbury, plan to have an active 2013.

The couple, who ran the London Marathon in 2011, found their exercise regime had slipped last year but plan to run, cycle and swim in 2013.

"We used to do a lot of fitness and trained for the London Marathon and then after that we became very busy, we moved house and couldn't keep our fitness up," said Mrs Pride, who is 59.

"Our new year's resolution is to get back into it big time as soon as the weather improves," added 51-year-old Mr Pride.

"If you haven't got anything to aim for it's harder, we used to go out every Sunday morning and run 15 miles.

"We would also get up and go for an early morning swim and swim for a mile but this last year we haven't had the time, we got out of the routine. When you work full-time, to do some exercise you have got to be pretty committed, but once you've done it you feel great."
