Young people are being encouraged to volunteer at a centre for others of their age in the Bath area.
A scheme involving Bath and North East Somerset Council and the national vInspired volunteering charity sees teenagers helping to run activities at the authority's youth hubs.
Anyone aged 14 to 25 can register on the website vinspired.com to log their volunteering hours and gain vInspired Awards certificates to be used on CVs and in university applications.
The council said volunteering can be a way of gaining new experiences, qualifications and making new friends, as well as building up skills for the jobs market.
They can volunteer in a variety of ways dependant on their age, and can apply to volunteer by visiting their local youth hub, such as those at Southdown and Peasedown St John, through www.bathnes .gov.uk/youthservice or by calling the council's youth office on 01225 396980 and asking to speak to a member of staff.
Cabinet member for early years, children and youth, councillor Dine Romero (Lib Dem, Southdown) said: "We are proud to work with vInspired through the council's youth service to offer activities and opportunities which can help young people to make a positive difference to their lives and communities. We welcome our young people to come along and discover the great experience, skills and qualifications they can get out of this worthwhile and rewarding scheme."
Young people from Peasedown Youth Hub recently gained an award at a B&NES community awards scheme for their work at Radstock Museum relating to the Glastonbury Festival.
Katie Madams, who volunteers at Peasedown, said: "Volunteering at Peasedown Youth Hub has given me more confidence and I have gained new skills that I use at college and in the workplace."
