A man has been charged with stealing items from parked cars in Bradford on Avon.
Marcus Neal, 31, of Leventon Place, in Hilperton, was charged with stealing North Face and Barbour jackets from a car parked at Barton Farm, in Pound Lane, last month.
He was also charged with stealing a Blackberry phone and a handbag from another car parked in the same location, as well as handling stolen goods.
Neal will appear in court in May.
The arrest came as Wiltshire police officers devised an interesting way of catching car thieves red-handed – setting up a vehicle as bait.
The team working on Operation Chariot, an initiative to combat car and van crime, have decided to plant vehicles to tempt would-be criminals to try to steal them.
Inspector Lisette Harvey said the tactic would be used in crime hotspots across West Wiltshire, including in Bradford on Avon and surrounding villages.
She said: "A number of forces in other parts of the country have made very good use of such vehicles.
"For example, criminals trying to break into a vehicle to steal a sat nav system have unwittingly been recorded on broadband CCTV.
"The sat nav systems have been marked with special dye which has then enabled their whereabouts to be tracked.
"I want anyone tempted to try stealing from vehicles in our sector to be warned that the street or car park they target could have our bait vehicle in it."
