Harry Veal carried on from where he left off last summer with the bat as he recorded Beechen Cliff School's highest-ever individual score in a midweek victory at Monkton Combe. The 18-year-old school 1st XI captain helped himself to 120 of a 40-over total of 267-6, brining up his maiden century for Beechen in the process. He was well supported by Max O'Leary (71). Veal later took two wickets as Beechen bowled their hosts out for 96 to wrap up a comprehensive victory. Last August, the Lansdown teenager featured in what is believed to be a world-record last-wicket stand of 232 when playing for Somerset under-17s against their Devon counterparts.
