A Bath museum is playing host to a series of classical concerts.
Pianist Peter Donohoe will perform, over seven concerts at the Holburne Museum, all of Beethoven's piano sonatas. The third evening recital series at the museum begins on Saturday at 7.30pm.
The works are described as probably the greatest keyboard anthology of all and span Beethoven's entire creative output, from his youthful works influenced by Haydn and Mozart to his later music which influenced Wagner, Berlioz and Brahms.
The collection includes the Moonlight Sonata, the Pathetique Sonata, and one of the piano's greatest works of all, the Hammerklavier Sonata.
Concert tickets cost £24 per night, with a season ticket £144.
To book tickets, call the Holburne on 01225 388569 or alternately, the Bath box office on 01225 463362 or go to www.bathboxoffice.org.uk.
Meanwhile, another concert in an unusual venue takes place at the Royal United Hospital next week.
Acclaimed Bath-based singer-songwriter Emily Maguire is doing a special free gig for patients and staff at the RUH in at 1pm on Tuesday.
Classically trained on cello, piano and flute, Emily taught herself the guitar and started writing songs when she found herself stuck at home with illness. After the Atrium gig, she will be going on to the wards to sing unplugged.
